During the fall semester UNI Graphic Technology student
Samantha Schilmoeller
completed an internship in the Grout Museum District. She worked with
Korean War veteran Cliff Strovers to create an exhibit based on his
post-war photographs of Korea. Cliff was part of an engineering
battalion helping to rebuild Korea after the war, in his spare time he
took photographs of the people and the country-side. Samantha assisted
with a video interview of Cliff, helped select and prepared the photos
for the exhibit, wrote text and labels, created
title board and
sponsor board plus two display boards and organized her work on disks
and in a notebook for final exhibit set-up. The exhibit titled “1954
Korea, After the Korean War: Photographs by Cliff Strovers” was up in 2013.
